About the Blog
The Article Collections section is a research and analysis blog looking to make foreign policy and international affairs easier to consume and understand. By breaking down complex issues into bite-sized pieces, I want to make people comfortable with reading about global experiences (especially U.S. involvement in these affairs) and having an opinion about them.
There are three main article series that you will see on this blog (with the occasional opinion piece thrown in the mix):
- Global Insights Local Results (GILR)
- Did You Know?
- Educational Content
The goal is to have a news story become more than a one-sentence headline that is forgotten in a week, to mitigate the “otherness” and even the ignorance and fear we all feel when we read a story about something outside our wheelhouse.
There is no objective other than to facilitate a love of learning. To that end, I provide many links and resources in my articles to allow people to learn even more about a topic. Please reach out if you have any ideas or a topic you would like to see.
About the Business
My name is Casey Moher, and I leverage five years of leadership experience in information technology (IT) with a master’s degree in national security to strengthen and enhance the foreign policy community in Denver and across the U.S.
Booksmart Breakdown was born from the realization that small organizations do not have the time to organize internally while also trying to network, market, and provide goods and services. My main incentive is to help organizations organize their policies, technologies, and content so that they can make strides in building their communities.
I have a master’s degree in Security Studies from Georgetown University and graduated cum laude from the University of Colorado in Political Science and Sociology. I have worked for the last 5 years in leadership positions, building websites and web infrastructure. My main objective at each job was to make my teams more efficient and build trust and awareness of the processes.
I am very engaged with the foreign policy community in and around Denver, but I can also speak to and help with many non-profit objectives, small businesses, and volunteer organizations. I have worked with and volunteered at many non-profits in Denver and Boulder, and as a small business owner, I understand the time commitment it takes to make a venture succeed.
